In late 2009, Talemwa Initiative funded and oversaw the drilling of a borehole in Buyonjo Primary School grounds. This borehole now provides easily accessible clean water to the school and wider community.
This had a major impact, as before this the nearest water supply was about 1.5 kilometres away. This meant the school children needed to make regular trips on foot throughout the day to fetch water in the hot sun, thereby missing lessons.
